Corey graduated from Lake Superior State University in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Public Safety. He has also worked as adjunct faculty for the past seven years at NCMC College in Petoskey teaching criminal justice classes.Primary Roles and Responsibilities: Corey is currently assigned to be a Community Services Trooper for the Michigan State Police. Curriculum in local school systems and Head Starts.
Favorite thing to do in Corey's spare time: I am still very involved in local baseball. I've helped run Harbor Springs Little League for the past 19 years. I've coached either J.V. or Varsity baseball in Harbor Springs for the past nine years, and I've coached a 19u American Legion team for five years in the summer.
Something fun about Corey: I live in Harbor Springs with my wife, two sons, and our two dogs. Lululemon is our French bulldog and she thinks she is pretty special.
Corey is a great resource for awareness on Social Media Addiction, Drug Trends, Vaping, or other topics and he is always willing to share a presentation with your group of youth or adults!
Thank you for sharing a little more about yourself Corey.

OUR STORYThe Child Abuse Prevention & Education Council of Antrim, Charlevoix and Emmet Counties was founded in 1982 with the original name the Northwest Michigan Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect or NWMCPCAN. The name officially changed in 2001 to the Child Abuse Council of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties and again in 2016 to include Prevention and Education. In 2023 we updated our name to include Antrim County. What has remained consistent through our existence is the Council’s commitment and dedication to our mission of prevention of child abuse and neglect through increased public awareness, community collaboration, and education. The CAPE Council is a Children’s Trust Michigan Designated Council. The Children’s Michigan (CTM) is a statewide, non-profit organization also dedicated to the prevention of abuse and neglect. The CTM works in partnership with the local councils that serve Michigan’s 83 counties. Local councils are independent, community-based organizations that identify needs and facilitate collaborative prevention programs for children and families in their communities. In addition to funding from CTM, we also are supported by our donors, businesses, community foundations, churches, and service organizations help the Child Abuse Council to provide thousands of pieces of parenting, prevention, reporting, and child development materials for distribution throughout our tri-county area. We appreciate your contributions, and we are stronger together! |
